The Littéral project addresses both cyclical temporality and the temporality of matter. From a cyclical perspective, the work is structured around a material trajectory destined to return to its source. Local sea salt collected from the Salins de Giraud is brought into the presentation space as a temporary loan: originating from the sea, it takes its place in the exhibition space as a landscape, and is ultimately returned to the sea. This return of salt to its origin situates the work not in the production of a “finished” object, but in a logic of restitution and return. From the perspective of the temporality of matter, salt is not a passive mass: in contact with wind, rain, waves, and humidity, it is continuously transformed and becomes an actor that makes time visible.
